A 6.2 magnitude quake struck northern Argentina Thursday, centered some 139 kilometers (87 miles) from the city of Salta, US geologists said.
The quake, which had a depth of some 5.9 miles, struck at around 8:12 am (1112 GMT) according to the United States Geological Survey, which monitors seismic activity around the world.
